Whispered Images tamboured placemats are made from thin strips of wood glued to a vinyl backing that allows the placemat to flex.  The flexibility has no obvious purpose.  We make them this way because making a fill size placemat from wood in one large piece would be much too fragile to survive reasonable use.

Our tamboured wood placemats are sold in multiples of two since most people do not need just one placemat.  If you have a special need we will be happy to create custom placemats based on your specific color, design and placement requirements.  We can also custom laser engrave the placemats using a favorite phrase, quote, logo, name or picture.  We can also hand color images on our placemats.

Care and Cleaning

Our wood tamboured placemats have a urethane finish.  Avoid prolonged exposure to water.  The placemats may be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth as needed.  You should dry them immediately to reduce excess moisture concerns.  The glue bond between the vinyl backing and the wood slats should hold up under occasional use.  Excess bending and moisture can cause the glue bond to fail.
