Christmas Ornament

What could be more distinctive and natural than a wooden Christmas ornament.  It would be a beautiful accent to your special Christmas Tree.  It could also be placed on a stand by itself and of course makes a great gift for a special friend or business associate.

This turned wood ornament is made from spalted dogwood.   One side of the ornament is a subtle pinkish tone.  The other side (pictured) is a golden brown highlighted by random black lines.   The darker walnut center ring is itself accented by gold bands made with pigmented epoxy.  The maple burl finial is a light, simple design that adds interest and character to the  ornament. 

The copper hanging ring is approximately 1.5" in diameter which is easily slipped over the end of any branch.  This ornament weighs less than two ounces so most moderate Christmas Tree limbs will hold it just fine.  This hand made Christmas ornament is finished in a semi-gloss oil and urethane combination that highlights the color and features of the wood while providing a long lasting protective and beautiful shine.

Care and Maintenance

A light dusting is all that might typically be required for this piece.  If the ornament ever gets soiled the urethane finish should allow the ornament surface to be wiped with a damp cloth.  Please be careful with the point on the finial.  It is sharp enough to cause injury if misused and should be kept away from children or hostile adults.

Custom Laser Engraving

The signature tag that comes with each ornament can be custom laser engraved for gifts or special occasions.  The standard ornament signature is small version our own Trinity Cross design.  The front is engraved with "Peace be to this house".  The back includes the date the ornament was made, our Whispered Images logo and the types of wood that are used to make the ornament.  This signature tag can be customized or we can create a special tag with your custom logo, name or other information for an additional fee.  A custom ornament with your company logo could make a very unique corporate gift this year.
